      hi! you don’t have to use a4 paper, You can use any you want. I always cute my paper in rectangles of 2cm by 3cm, which is kinda small, you better can use 1/32 of a4 that about: 3,5cm by 5,5cm. hopefully this helps you to make 3d origami 🙂 try out what size you like, the most important is that your sheets are rectangles..:)
