When you are placing you pieces it will naturally start to get tighter like how a cone starts out big and gets tighter. Once the pieces start to get a little tighter you can remove 1 or 2 pieces per row and start to decrease.
What irks me about papercraftcentral is that they do not link back to the original source as far as I can tell. I wanted a closer look at that awesome 3d origami red dragon but can’t seem to find it elsewhere. =/
