3DO Artist Network Spotlight – Zizo007

I first came to notice Zizo007’s artwork when he posted his pic of Jim Morrison.  The reason I was so impressed is because I have been waiting for the day for someone to make his type of art which is almost like bitmap art with 3d origami and Zizo does a wonderful job at it. Here is a pic of Zizo007 with his art and a brief bio.  Thanks!

I’m a student at the University of Szeged, Hungary. I started to do 3dorigami art about 7-8 months ago. I heart about 3dorigami from my cousin. I watched some vids on youtube about 3do and i liked the artifacts made from these little paper pieces. So, I decided to make one on my own, of course the first ones was made by diagrams. I surfed on the net and was looking for a page where i can find a community doing 3do art. That time I found this site and registered immediately.

Influence: Seeing David Foos’ and Mohammed’s excellent art influenced me a lot. I wanted, and also in present, I want to gain exp to make such works as they’ve made already. However, I don’t feel to much creativity in my art. Designing 3do works is very hard: using different size of paper to make figures more precisely. I saw a design on this site that used 3do pieces to make pictures. Unfortunately, I don’t remember the name of the artist. The fact that I’m studying software engineering and I see pictures in pixels, and the works I’ve seen on this site inspired me to make 3do artifacts like the image of Jim Morrison. Why Jim Morrison? It’s simple: My girlfriend loves him, and I wanted to make her be very happy at her last birthday, so I decided to make a thing like this. This is the short story. Now I’m working on a pic of Homer Simpson. It will contain about 7500 pieces. ~ zizo007
