Here’s a ‘sneak peak’ of the new collection. I still have to finish off some bits and have heaps more ideas I havent gotten around to making
I rounded the pieces by pushing down with a pen which gives it a polished, cleaner & cuter look, and varnished with “Mod-podge” ($10 from “the warehouse” -art section where all the paint is) which makes it look kinda plastic and almost creates like a new material- it doesnt look like paper anymore! like mid paper-plastic which is kinda cool
they also look better cos some pieces are cut to shape the ears, arms and limbs. I know cutting/gluing/varnishing isnt “origami” but I think of this as handicrafts, NOT origami, since I dont actually like/ do normal origami anyway. Sometimes you have to cut, glue and add different materials (bead eyes) to give it the best look.
